What a start to 2013

March 30th, 2013

We are now (officially at least) at the start British Summertime although for
most of us it still feels like the middle of winter. At Clyde Valley Pet
Retreat, we have had our fair share of bad weather in the last two months with
regular dumps of heavy snow and sub zero temperatures but thankfully we have a
very good relationship with the farmer who owns our access road and his son is
always on hand with his tractor should the wind blow the snow onto the track.
We have had an absolute ball despite the bad weather and if anything our guests
seem to have really enjoyed all the snow we have had. We do however look
forward to the warmer summer months.

We have had a really good first few months of 2013 and we have seen many
regular clients as well as a large number of new ones. The variety of dogs we
have been looking for is also expanding and we have now had the pleasure of Dog
de Bordeauxs, Briards, Corgis, Greyhounds, Dalmatians, English Setters, Pugs,
Labdradoodles, Newfoundlands Chihuahuas and Cockapoos to name just a few.

It’s amazing to think that in just 42 days time, Clyde Valley Pet Retreat
will be celebrating its second birthday. You know the old saying “time
flies when you’re having fun”……..well if there is anyone who doubts
that saying, believe me its true especially when you are lucky enough to spend
your working days with so many beautiful and fun dogs. It only seems like
yesterday that our first every guests Ziggy, Scruffy and Gizmo walked through
our doors on May 11th 2011 however since that day we have never looked back.

We knew back then, that Scotland was crying out for something unique and
different in terms of luxury dog boarding facilities and we were sure that our
idea to create our very own small scale luxury boarding kennels was right.
Originally we did gain planning permission to construct a large building with
ten large luxury kennels but the more we thought about why we wanted to run
boarding kennels, the more we realised we needed to do something different. In
other words, if we were to stand out from the crowd Clyde Valley Pet Retreat
had to be unique and offer something others did not.

In the two years we have been open, we have had such loyal and kind support
from each and every customer who has put their faith in us to look after their
dogs. We totally understand just how stressful leaving your dogs can be and that’s
exactly why we decided to create Clyde Valley Pet Retreat. By ditching our
plans for the standard large scale kennel building in favour of our two double
suite buildings, we are in the unequalled position where we can devote so much
more of our time to each of our guests rather than spending a little time with
more guests. This is what really sets us apart and it’s why we have people
coming from all over Scotland and England

Thanks as always to our wonderful customers for your support and we look
forward to seeing you all again on your next visit.

Regards
Angela
